Winter Wonderland

As I said in my last post... we were buckling down for another storm. Well, it came! We have 10 inches and it is still snowing! The kids here even got a snow day! Of course the boys are not complaining. My parents live right down the road from Matt's brother. So, we decided to get on our snow gear and walk down to "Aunt Nita's" house for some snow fun. Well after 20 minutes of layering and snowsuits, we finally walked out the door. We traveled 10 houses down to their house and we were ready for some Hot Chocolate.

In this picture they look warm and toasty with hot chocolate...
Hayden, Sam, Cole, Anthony and JT.

After a couple of hours, we were ready (or so we thought) to try it again. It was FREEZING! I know I grew up in this, but really! Words can not describe the cold! You could barely see in front of you!

JT really liked eating the snowflakes.

He looks like he is in the arctic.
again, eating snowflakes. Too bad this is blurry because it would have been a great pic!

Sammy. It was hard to do anything but just stand there with all the layers.

Or fall down!

The View:

A Snow Fort with all the kids. That was cool.

JT slipped and fell right on his bottom.

All in all, it was a fun day, despite the frigid temperatures! The kids had a blast. And, now I am hoping it is out of their systems! I certainly do not want to go out in that again!

Baby it's Cold Outside!

Blogging from Rochester, NY!

It is a balmy 29 degrees and we are preparing for a blizzard tomorrow. The kids are all hoping for a snow day! The kids are in HEAVEN! I have lost count of how many times Sam has dropped to the ground and tried to make a snow angel. We are still waiting on snow pants for him and snow boots for JT so we have not made a day of the snow yet, but I am not sure how much longer I can hold them off. Especially with the snow storm coming. If I were willing to bet, I would say we will be in the snow tomorrow no matter what gear we have.

Here is a picture of JT just to go to the car. Sam is not in the picture because he already ran out the door to get a snowball!

The cousins had their annual "cookie hookie day" today. They made some rice krispie treats to decorate like cut outs, peanut butter cookies and biscotti. It was considerably smaller because Aunt Barbara had to do it alone as I had a hair appt. (can't miss that) and Debbie and Lisa had to work. They looked like they had a great time.

Another week has past!!

Again, I am a little slow with the posts. But in my defense... it has been very hectic here with doing things here to celebrate Christmas and getting ready to go to NY for Christmas. The week was not very eventful, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday were PACKED...Here is our weekend:

FRIDAY: I finally found the chocolate Advent calendars I have been looking for all of December at Target (of course!) Only 12 days late. The boys look like they minded eating the extra chocolates to catch up, don't they? I didn't let them eat all 12. I had them put the extras in baggies, but someone had a hard time with that... can you guess which one????? (hint: the bottom picture)

SATURDAY: This was an eventful friend-filled day...
8:00 am - SNOW IN ARIZONA!!
The kids were so excited to build a snowman. I could not resist the urge to get this first shot. That little patch of white... that is the snow. :)

Sammy was excited to make a snowball. Good thing there were signs all over about NO SNOWBALL THROWING!

I love this picture of Jordan!Matt the non-conformist... Sandals in the snow.

3:00 pm - Sam's last soccer game. He almost scored!!! He was really workin for that trophy.

5:00 pm : Christmas with Friends. The kids played secret santa to eachother and we celebrated by exchanging presents and having a nice dinner together with our friends. It was a great time and it lasted until 10:30!! We really enjoyed the night.
Sam was a little excited to get the Indiana Jones outfit... look at his face!
JT and Candy - a perfect fit!

SUNDAY: MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Santa made a quick stop to drop off the big things for the boys before going to Rochester. Not to worry... he left a note saying that he was still coming to Ya-Ya and Poppy's with more toys! (Just what they need!)
JT ran to his bike. He was a very excited little big boy.
Toy Story Rocket launcher.
THE WII!! (they were really good boys this year!)
We are really enjoying this. First thing Sam said this morning was, can I play Wii? And Daddy has been rockin out to Aerosmith Guitar Hero - he played it until 1:00 am!
IRON MAN!
